Business Rap: Starting a Nonprofit Side Hustle

On January 2, Foster Swift business attorney John Mashni sat down for a discussion with other business professionals on Business Rap, a weekly radio show and podcast featuring Mid-Michigan's brightest business owners and decision makers discussing business trends, challenges and politics affecting employers and business owners.

The topic of the podcast is "Starting a Nonprofit Side Hustle."  John explained the tax implications and legal steps to create and operate a nonprofit. John has extensive experience with nonprofits and tax-exempt organizations, as he regularly advises clients regarding the creation and operation of these entities.  Additionally, John teaches Taxation of Nonprofits in a law school LL.M. program.
